🌟 Calling All Pallara Residents! Let's Unite for a Safer Community! 🌟
We are excited to invite all residents of Pallara to come together and show their support for the establishment of a Neighbourhood Watch in our Suburb. Your presence is crucial in helping us reach the required numbers to kickstart this important initiative.
The QPS has informed us that we need approximately 500 people to register their support either in person on the day or online at Pallara Community Hub .

Community Crime Prevention Afternoon
When: Saturday 14th September 2024 at 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Location: Pallara District Park

Join us for an afternoon in the park, where you can meet your local police and crime prevention team. You'll have the chance to chat to them and explore the Mobile Police Beat.
Our local police will be providing valuable home and vehicle security advice and tips. Additionally, community members will have the opportunity to schedule a free home security assessment with the crime prevention team.
We are pleased to announce that Leanne Enoch MP from Labor will be attending the event.

At the AGM, we will be voting on the nominations received for the establishment of this much-needed service. A minimum of 2 votes for each role is required to elect each member.

Police seize more than 30 stolen vehicles and firearms, Pallara

Police have seized more than 30 stolen vehicles and firearms after conducting a search warrant of a Pallara property yesterday, September 19, 2024.
It will be alleged around 1pm, police sighted a stolen vehicle at a Sweets Road property, before locating a second stolen vehicle.
A search warrant was issued and police allegedly seized 31 stolen vehicles, including motorbikes, cars, a tipper truck, a tow truck and trailers.
A shipping container, excavator, power tools, quantity of drugs, two firearms, and a flame thrower were also seized.
A 43-year-old Gatton man has been charged with 22 counts of unlawful possession of motor vehicles and one count of possessing dangerous drugs.

'I should be feeling safe': The Queensland community fighting back against youth crime

A Queensland community has gone to extreme lengths to fight back against youth crime, patrolling the streets to defend their suburb.
Pallara, south of Brisbane, is a family friendly parcel of suburbia, but for the last few months residents say they have been under siege.
Day and night, they say youth criminals are targeting newly-developed estates in the area.

Community engagement and patrol results, Pallara

The Queensland Police Service would like to thank the Pallara community for their engagement with officers at the Mobile Police Beat (MPB), the community leader’s discussion, and while conducting additional patrols.
We are committed to ensuring your community is safe and feels safe.
Over the past week police have conducted 57 street checks, 70 random breath tests, and engaged with 50 community members who visited our MPB.
Including the three arrests last week during proactive police patrols, police have charged eight offenders for five traffic offences including unlicenced driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, seven drug related offences, three weapons act related offences, three property related offences, and one Bail Act related offence.

Residents in the Brisbane suburb of Pallara are being targeted by intruders and some are so terrified they are barricading themselves inside their homes.
Vision of one home break-in shows intruders declaring they had a "search warrant" to the terrified occupants.
The shocking home invasion took place in broad daylight in the outer southern Brisbane suburb yesterday.

Man, 27, charged with high-speed and intoxicated driving after woman thrown from allegedly stolen ute in Pallara

The 24-year-old woman remains in hospital in a critical condition, while the driver escaped with minor injuries.
A man was allegedly intoxicated and speeding when he crashed a stolen ute, causing a young woman critical injuries as she was thrown from the vehicle in Brisbane.
The 27-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were travelling in the dual-cab ute on Paradise Rd in Pallara about 3am on Monday when they rolled and hit a tree.

New Supermarket, Retail, Fast Food Development Proposed for Pallara

Situated at 223 Ritchie Road in Pallara, the approximately 1.62-ha property is the site of the proposed new neighbourhood centre.
The Kris Kowalski Architects-designed development proposal by Pallara Central Pty Ltd includes a 1,500-sqm supermarket, retail outlet, indoor sport and recreation, healthcare, a 903-sqm childcare centre and a drive-through fast food outlet.
The main building will provide convenient access between tenancies via a roofed walkway and will also contain a pavilion-style cafe. The centre will have a total of 3,838 sqm of centre uses.

Operation Whiskey Curve, South Brisbane

A five-day operation in Brisbane’s south has resulted in 13 people charged with a total of 24 charges, mostly traffic, drug and property offences.
Between July 24 and 28, police conducted 96 roadside breath tests and 105 proactive activities including wanding operations, bail compliance and street checks in multiple locations including Acacia Ridge, Calamvale, Chelmer, Darra, Graceville, Inala, Mount Ommaney, Oxley and Pallara.
Operation Whiskey Curve is a bi-monthly operation designed to enhance community safety through the delivery of various policing activities. These activities included extreme hi-visibility patrols targeting crime hot spots and high-risk offenders, road safety initiatives, bail compliance and community engagement.

Carinity Boosts Marketplace Aid for More People in Need

A community service enterprise in southern Brisbane which assists over 600 households each week has expanded with support from Carinity.
The Open Hands Neighbourhood Marketplace in Pallara has opened a new larger shopfront for its food relief program.
Operated by The House of Prayer, the marketplace supports refugees, migrants, individuals and families facing the challenges of the cost-of-living crisis.
Service users can access discounted foods and groceries - up to 75% off retail prices - as well as free food hampers.

Located: Missing girl, Pallara

Update: The 13-year-old girl missing from Pallara since Friday, February 9 has been located safe and well. The media and public are thanked for their assistance.
Earlier: The girl was last seen in the afternoon at a Noble Avenue property, and has not been seen or heard from since.
Police and family have serious concerns for her welfare due to her young age, and she has a medical condition.
Police are appealing to the girl, or anyone with information about her whereabouts, to immediately come forward.
